Maria Orosan-Telea


Maria Orosan-Telea studied art history at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca and she received a Ph.D. degree from the West University, Timișoara in 2013. During her Ph.D. she conducted a research study about Romanian art in the post-communist period. She has published the book Pseudo-signification and Hyper-signification in Romanian Art Since 1990 and several other studies and articles in art journals and collective volumes. Her areas of interest include Modern and Contemporary Art, Neo-Conceptualism, New Media, Postmodernism, the relationship between art and politics, visual semiotics and critical theory in art. Occasionally she acts as a curator.
