Livia Mateiaș

Livia Mateiaș is a Romanian visual artist and art researcher. Born in Salonta, Livia started her art studies in Oradea and continued them in Timisoara. In 2013 she earned her Ph.D. in Visual Arts at the West University of Timisoara, Faculty of Arts and Design. She also has an M.A. and a B.A. in Graphics obtained at the same University. Since 2009 Livia Mateiaș is a member of Romanian Fine Arts Union, Timisoara branch. Her works are developed in a wide range of mediums (graphics, mixed and digital media, performance, installation etc.) all being drawn together by the thematic of cosmos and outer spatiality. In the artist’s vision, COSMOS is one of the greatest mystery, which in the process of transposing it into art, becomes a way to transcend the boundaries of the known universe by immersing in a visually-imaginary universe, full of contrast, tensions, light, color and harmony.
